There are many, everyday behaviors we as a society have accepted as normal behaviors. Some we have even accepted as personality traits.
• Do you find yourself overanalyzing about every detail, making sure it is good enough?
• Do you find yourself repeating instructions to your teenage children before you leave them alone in the house? “Will they get it right?Will they burn the house down?” Are questions you ask yourself as you micromanage other people.
• Do you find yourself holding resentment towards others for how your life is? Looking down on others and blaming them for how terrible your life seems to be from your perspective. Criticizing and finding faults in other people, but never having it in you to let it truly go or make a positive change to do something about it.
• Do you find yourself in the valley of indecision so often its frustrating. Frozen and unable to make a move.
• Do you find that you say YES and YES and YES constantly, even though deep down you are feeling exhausted and burnt out?
• Do you find yourself closing the door before you’ve even opened it? Someone suggests to go for a hike, before considering it, you’ve already told yourself you will be too tired, your allergies will be bad, and your blood sugar wont handle that.
• Do you find yourself turned inwards a lot, constantly checking what sensation is going on today, what symptom is here that shouldn’t be, worried about your day, stressed and consumed with things of your body’s state all day.
• Do you find yourself waking up in the morning, still laying in bed, and already feeling the drag of the day before its began? You just want to curl up in a ball and sleep the day away. Or maybe you are in the other ditch, and immediately upon waking, the adrenaline is coursing through your body. Either way, you dread mornings.
Just a bunch of random questions to ponder. If you’ve answered yes to one or more, it’s quite likely you’ve got what we call, a stuck state of nervous system dysregulation.
