Your healing should stretch you and expand you, not stress and limit you.
Read that again. Are you on a path to finding relief from symptoms? What does that path look like?
Is it constantly focusing on symptoms, gauging whether they are better or what is causing this one that’s popped up now?
Is your day filled with routines of supplements, diets, detoxing and hyper focused on living ‘pure’? (free from toxins)
Do plans come up and you immediately go to worrying how you will manage symptoms if you leave your ‘safe’ place? What will you eat? What if I can’t eat on time? What if there are strong smells? What if I get tired and need to nap?
Did you know that ALL of these are only keeping your illness with you. We can try as hard as we want but until we address the power of our thoughts, our fearful thoughts, our worried thoughts, our anxious thoughts, the state of our nervous system (tied to all of our thoughts), healing is hard to come by.
There are people who for decades seem to only get ‘cleaner’ and ‘cleaner’. Constant diet restrictions, endless detoxing procedures, this thing is bad for you, avoid that product, etc, yet they seem no farther ahead. You would think by how ‘clean’ they are living, they would have incredible health! So incredible they would be like a super version of humans. But alas, they are settling for a mediocre healing. They are unknowingly reaching for a goal of perfect health they will never reach. Cutting gluten, or sugar for another 6 months will not get them that goal. Living such a ‘clean’ life can only be attained in one’s own house. Outside of that the world is full of triggers. In the end, you’ve got someone who cannot thrive anywhere but in their own house and even then, their day is filled with trying to stay ‘clean’. Underneath all of this, is a nervous system trying so hard to protect them, but they don’t realize this. Its all an act of protection. Yes, this way of living can help them find a degree of relief. But in the end, they will only get so far, and it will be a settle, because they are not addressing how the nervous system’s state is feeding all of this. A dysregulated nervous system that is so sensitive to any exposure, it NEEDS a ‘clean’ life. It really can’t process that gluten, that conflict, that light, that smell. So the supplements do it for them. The nervous system is in such a state of survival, none of its God-given systems can even function properly on its own. Immunity, detoxing, digestion, regulating (temperature, heart rate, blood pressure), to name a few. It needs those outside modalities to function as long as it is in survival. And, since this kind of living is not sustainable, the avoidances only add up over time. Once we come out of survival those functions can ALL get back to work in the ways they were designed to work so beautifully.
You get your life back. Thousands of people have gone from needing to restrict all manner of foods, smells, sounds, and life itself to finding freedom. Being able to eat whatever they want, get out and enjoy their life. Not think twice about doing things, if it will affect them or not. Freedom. It’s not what western medicine or even naturopathic medicine preaches to you. You are free to take whatever path you want but by what I’ve seen, their aint no path to healing as FREEING as getting to the root with some good ol brain retraining and nervous system regulation.
Do you want health freedom? Or could we say life freedom? All the energy put into surviving and being ok, could go into creativity, quality time with friends and family, having energy to give to others, adventures, wholesomeness, without the shadow of illness. Do you want to come home to your own body? Get to the root and have those functions work like they were always meant to work?
Healing should be coming back to things you love not avoiding.
Healing should be coming back to connection not disconnection.
Healing should be filling you up not emptying.
Healing should be freedom not prison.
