Can we look a little deeper and maybe question if there is a bigger story going on then just anxiety, depression, mood swings, isolation, etc when an adult or a child is struggling. The truth is, there are so many stories I hear from people trying to heal their nervous systems from things from their past, from situations that were or are really tough. No they are not being victims. You can not be a victim and expect to heal at the same time. They are trying their best to forgive, let go, and heal.
I sometimes hear the saying, "we are all broken people". I disagree with that. If we are just broken that means we must fix it. We must "get over it" somehow. We must not have these feelings and circumstances. And there is an idea of perfection that is the only place to be otherwise we are broken. No. We are human not broken. And the truth of being human is that tough things happen, we feel things, we go into survival mode because we aren't robots. We get stuck there. We fall, and get it wrong sometimes. We are humans. Humans that God made with fragile hearts that feel. Life is tough sometimes. And the process of healing and being ok can take awhile. There can be many ebbs and flows, ups and downs, and it's real. Often individuals who are looked on as broken or different feel very alone.
Lets have compassion and patience for each other. And love like Jesus would.
Christians arent exempt from being human.
